KUALA LUMPUR: Social care and support play an important role in the development of children especially the underprivileged. Once again, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad continues its efforts as a community player that takes on its social responsibilities to growth and empower the 15 underprivileged children from “Dignity for Children Foundation”, a non-governmental organization during its Corporate Citizenship Day that took place in Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad premises on 14th March 2015. This Corporate Citizenship Day is an edutainment tour that offered opportunity and exposure for the underprivileged children to learn new information, gain knowledge and develop cooking skill together with the AJINOMOTO Staff.
During the edutainment tour, these underprivileged children were invited to visit 1909 Infoseum that opened up their mind with new information regarding gastronomy world and foundation of the Ajinomoto Company. Later, games & activity such as puzzle and crosswords with competition basis were carried out amongst participants.
Climax of the day fell on the mini cooking competition involving these newly enrolled junior chefs and the Ajinomoto Staff who worked together to try their best to complete dishes based on the ‘Artisan Appetisers’ themed recipes that demonstrated by Professional Chef. While being guided with usage of the Ajinomoto Products in food preparation, participants were also being taught with safety tips of cooking in a hygienic kitchen environment.
Pride as an expert in food industry, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad utilises all relevant efforts to contribute in the lifestyle improvement of the underprivileged including teaching them culinary skills.
