Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Appreciates National Athletes’ Dedication at the SEA Games 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 DECEMBER 2025 – Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad expresses its deep appreciation to eight national athletes for their unwavering dedication, resilience and remarkable achievements at the 33rd SEA Games 2025 in Thailand. Collaborating under “The Ajinomoto Malaysia VICTORY PROJECT,” the athletes demonstrated exceptional sporting spirit, delivering medal-winning performances and historic record-breaking moments that brought pride to the nation.

This year’s SEA Games unfolded in a more demanding competitive landscape, shaped by intense rivalries and unforeseen challenges. Despite these circumstances, Malaysia’s athletes rose with courage and professionalism, embodying the values of perseverance and sportsmanship, principles that Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad continues to uphold through its long-term commitment to athlete development.

Among the standout performances was Jonah Chang Anak Rigan, who captured gold in the men’s shot put, ending Malaysia’s 32-year gold medal drought in the event. His outstanding throw of 18.78 metres not only secured the top podium finish but also broke both the national and SEA Games records, marking a historic milestone for Malaysian athletics.

In women’s athletics, Ng Jing Xuan delivered a commendable performance to clinch silver in the javelin throw, achieving a record-breaking distance of 52.17 metres, which set new national and SEA Games records. Meanwhile, Queenie Ting Kung Ni showcased consistency and excellence by securing silver in the discus throw, surpassing her season’s best performance and reinforcing her position among the region’s elite throwers.

Malaysia’s medal success was further strengthened by Wan Muhammad Fazri Wan Zahari, who clinched bronze in the 800m event, as well as the mixed doubles badminton pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, who demonstrated tactical maturity and determination to secure a bronze medal for Malaysia.

Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad also recognises the dedication and efforts of other national athletes under the programme, including Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli and Sanjay Manimaran, who have demonstrated remarkable commitment and resilience. Their perseverance and discipline throughout their journey exemplify the true spirit of competitive sport beyond podium results.

In preparation for the Games, all athletes under “The Ajinomoto Malaysia VICTORY PROJECT” underwent the Winning Meals Kachimeshi® sports nutrition programme from October to December 2025. The programme provided personalised, nutritionally balanced meal plans, developed by professional sports nutritionists to support training intensity, recovery and competition readiness.

This nutrition strategy was complemented by aminoVITAL®, a science-based amino acid formulation enriched with Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs), designed to enhance muscle endurance, reduce fatigue and accelerate recovery during high-performance training and competition phases.

Through the integration of sports science, nutrition and athlete wellbeing, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad remains committed to supporting athletes not only in victory, but throughout their entire journey, while continuing to promote healthier lifestyles and sustainable sporting excellence across the region.
