Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Empowers Youth Innovation at Science Castle Asia 2025 with 321 Teams from 10 Countries

CYBERJAYA, 18 OCTOBER 2025 — Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB), in collaboration with Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (LVNSMY), has successfully concluded the Science Castle Asia 2025 (SCAsia2025) at Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya. The event brought together over 321 research teams from 10 countries in celebration of youth-led science, technology, and innovation.
Part of an ongoing educational initiative between Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad and Leave a Nest Malaysia, and endorsed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE), the event provided an international platform for secondary school students across Asia to present their scientific research addressing global and community challenges through poster, oral, and splash presentations.
As the main partner, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad has played a vital role in expanding the Science Castle ecosystem. Following its successful collaboration in Science Castle Malaysia 2025 in Sarawak where it supported East Malaysian students through hands-on scientific engagement, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad has now extended its contribution to the Asia level, championing the integration of science, innovation, and sustainability across borders. Through its Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV)1 initiatives, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad continues to inspire future scientists and innovators to create positive social impact through science and technology.
Since its inception in Japan in 2012 and expansion to Malaysia in 2017, Science Castle has grown into one of Asia’s leading youth research conferences, nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among young scientists. Building on the success of Science Castle Malaysia held in Sarawak last July, this year’s Asia-level conference marked a major milestone for regional collaboration, connecting young researchers from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, India, Russia, and Myanmar.
A key highlight of this year’s event was the Science Castle Grant by Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad, a five-month programme that guided selected students from 10 schools across Malaysia in developing and refining their research ideas under expert mentorship from Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad and LVNSMY. The programme culminated in the teams’ final presentations during Science Castle Asia 2025, where they showcased innovative projects focused on nutrition, food sustainability, and community wellbeing. This initiative reflects Ajinomoto’s strong commitment to supporting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and nurturing young innovators driven to solve real-world problems.
The success of Science Castle Asia 2025 was made possible through strong collaboration with various partners, including Multimedia University (MMU), Focus Systems Co., Ltd. (Japan), Leave a Nest Capital (Japan), Cyberview Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Kyowa Leather Cloth Co., Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Malaysia Berhad, Sumitomo Corporation Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Group, MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd, Humoname Lab (Japan), Innoqua Asia Sdn. Bhd., Sustainable Food Asia (Japan), Tenchijin Inc. (Japan), University of Tsukuba Malaysia (UTMy), Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), IR Academy, and SugarBomb.
The event concluded with an award ceremony recognising outstanding research projects across all categories, including the Science Castle Grant Awards presented by Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad. One winning team will receive a fully sponsored study trip to Science Castle World 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, to represent Asia on the global stage. As the Science Castle network continues to expand, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad remains committed to strengthening collaboration among students, educators, researchers, and industries, empowering the next generation to build a sustainable and innovative future for Asia and beyond.
