Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Spreads the Spirit of Ramadan Through 20,000 Packs of Bubur Lambuk

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 MARCH 2026 – As the aroma of bubur lambuk fills the air each Ramadan, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB) brings this cherished tradition to life through a series of meaningful initiatives dedicated to sharing “rezeki” with communities across Malaysia. More than just a meal, each bowl represents warmth, generosity, and the spirit of togetherness that defines the holy month.
This year, AMB expanded its outreach through multiple bubur lambuk distributions, starting with Ramadan bazaars in Kampung Baru, Stadium Shah Alam, and Wangsa Maju. A total of 600 packs were distributed, allowing visitors to enjoy a comforting taste of tradition while experiencing the joy of sharing within their communities.
A standout moment of the initiative was the “Ramadan Disemai, Berkat Dikongsi” programme, organised in collaboration with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Bringing together 16 AMB volunteers and 40 members of the USIM community, the programme saw 1,100 packs of bubur lambuk carefully prepared and distributed to NGOs, welfare homes, and surrounding communities turning a simple cooking activity into a meaningful act of connection and compassion.
Continuing its efforts to reach urban communities, AMB partnered with Media Mulia Sdn. Bhd. to organise the Kongsi Berkat Bubur Lambuk programme at Perumahan Awam Seri Sabah, Cheras. Around 1,000 packs were distributed alongside Ajinomoto products, bringing both nourishment and awareness on the importance of preparing meals that are not only delicious but also balanced.
In Bandar Enstek, the spirit of gotong-royong came alive as AMB collaborated with Tabung Haji Properties and the Masjid Kariah LB Johnson community. Together with volunteers, 1,500 packs of bubur lambuk were prepared and distributed to nearby surau and residents, strengthening bonds between AMB employees and the local community through shared effort and purpose.
Adding a remarkable scale to this year’s initiative, AMB joined forces with RASA for a large-scale programme at Dataran Merdeka, where 16,000 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed to the public. The effort also earned recognition from The Malaysia Book of Records for the simultaneous cooking of 30 pots, marking a proud milestone in celebrating Malaysian culinary heritage.
In total, more than 20,000 packs of bubur lambuk were shared throughout Ramadan, reaching AMB employees, NGOs, welfare homes, mosques, PPR communities, uniformed bodies, and members of the public. Prepared using Ajinomoto products such as AJI-SHIO®, SERI-AJI®, and TUMIX®, each serving reflects AMB’s commitment to delivering value beyond business through its Ajinomoto Shared Value (ASV) approach.
Through these initiatives, AMB continues to turn simple acts into meaningful impact, proving that even a humble bowl of bubur lambuk can bring people together. As Ramadan reminds us of the importance of giving, AMB remains committed to nurturing stronger communities—one shared meal at a time.
