Seri-Aji® Continues the Spirit of Giving, Sharing Joy with Families in Need

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 JUNE 2025 ― This past Ramadan, Seri-Aji® launched the Bersahur Bersama Seri-Aji®, campaign to make every sahur moment more meaningful for the community. With the tagline "Sahur Seribu Kebaikan", the campaign invited Malaysians to take part in a simple but impactful way — for each contest entry and recipe video shared on social media, RM1 was added to a growing donation pool.

Thanks to the overwhelming support from our community, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB) successfully raised RM20,000. This fund was then channelled to two trusted partners — MyKasih Foundation and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia - to support families in need.

“At AMB, we believe that health is the most valuable asset in life. A balanced diet is not a luxury, but a basic necessity that should be enjoyed by all levels of society. Therefore, this contribution is not merely financial aid, but a symbol of Ajinomoto’s concern for the well-being of the community,” said Deputy Senior General Manager, Consumer Marketing Ms. Lee Soon Howe.

On 18 May, AMB staff joined forces with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia and student volunteers from Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM) Bangi to pack and distribute 100 sets of the Kindness Basket. Each basket included daily essentials like rice, cooking oil, vermicelli (bee hoon), sugar, and Seri-Aji® seasonings — offering not just food, but care and nourishment to families living in Flat Dadimur, Kuala Lumpur.

This initiative was also made possible with the support of Women and Single Mothers Welfare Association (WITUS), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), whose members were actively involved in organising and executing the distribution. It was a day filled with smiles, gratitude, and shared purpose as we reached out to 100 families in need.

Meanwhile, the other half of the fund — RM10,000 — was donated to MyKasih Foundation to support 66 families with essential grocery needs over a two-month period. This contribution helped ease their everyday expenses by ensuring access to basic food items, including AMB products such as Seri-Aji®, which are part of the eligible items under the programme.

To help these families make the most of their support, a special briefing session was held on 31 May. During the session, beneficiaries were guided through the programme’s usage and the list of eligible products. AMB also hosted a simple cooking demonstration using Seri-Aji® Nasi Goreng seasoning and Seri-Aji® Tom Yam Paste — showing how a delicious, balanced meal can be prepared easily with just a few ingredients; a warm reminder that good food does not have to be complicated, expensive, or out of reach.

Ng Yee Boon  “We understand that as mothers or busy parents, you're always looking for ways to prepare the best meals for your family. That’s why we offer Seri-Aji® menu seasoning — a simple, quick and delicious solution made from natural, high-quality ingredients,” said Ms. Ng Yee Boon, Head of Consumer Marketing."

KewpieOne of the beneficiaries shared, “Thank you, Seri-Aji®, for this initiative. I’ve never used fried rice seasoning before, but after trying it today, my daughter loved it! Kids don’t lie - if they say it’s good, it really is. Seri-Aji® is really convenient and saves a lot of time for us, especially if we’re working and have limited time to cook.”

Through this campaign, Seri-Aji® was not only able to share tasty and easy-to-cook meals, but also moments of care and connection with families in need.

AMB would like to thank everyone who took part in Bersahur Bersama Seri-Aji® – Sahur Seribu Kebaikan, including our partners, MyKasih Foundation and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, as well as WITUS for their strong support throughout the campaign.

Because when we eat well together, we live well together.
