Malaysians like the street food from the roadside food stalls, especially the fried banana commonly known as Pisang Goreng. Try this, the luxury version of Pisang Goreng. The typical Malaysian gourmet can taste even tastier as AJI-SHIO® Flavoured Pepper enhance the flavour.

6 pieces Ripe banana
60 g Red bean paste (store-bought)
Some Tapioca flour
Some Spring roll wrappers
2 tbsp Honey
3 – 4 tbsp Cornflakes, crushed

Crispy starch batter ingredients: combined

60 g Self-raising flour
¼ tsp Salt
¼ tsp AJI-SHIO® Flavoured Pepper
1 tsp Rice flour
8 – 9 tbsp Water
1 tsp Oil
Method
Method
  1. Peel the banana. Cut into half straight across. Sprinkle over with tapioca flour and leave aside.
  2. Spread some red bean paste over one half. Place the two halves together.
  3. Wrap up with a piece of spring roll wrapper. Stick down the corner with a little of the prepared crispy starch batter.
  4. Coat the wrapped up roll with crispy starch batter.
  5. Deep-fry in hot oil over medium flame till golden brown and crispy. Dish out.
  6. Brush the fried rolls with honey and coat with cornflakes. Serve immediately.
