Chow Mein translates to fried noodles in Cantonese. There are variety of Chow Mein, it can be stir-fried noodles with vegetables and sometimes with chicken meat or tofu. It is a delicious Chinese-Malaysian simple and complete dish.

Crispy Beef Chow Mein Set
Ingredients
Ingredients A:
60 g | Fresh wan tan noodles |
1 tsp | Cooking oil |
4 pips | Garlic cloves, minced |
2 inches | Ginger, julienned |
10 g | Bean sprout |
15 g | Shimeji mushroom |
15 g | Carrot, julienned |
15 g | Choy sum, trimmed |
2 nos | Cherry tomatoes |
1 stalk | Spring onion, sliced |
5 g | Fried onion |
Ingredients B: sauce
2 cup | Water |
1 tbsp | Oyster sauce |
1 tbsp | Sweet soy sauce |
1 tbsp | Hoisin sauce |
1 tbsp | Corn flour, mixed with some water |
1½ tbsp | TUMIX® Chicken Stock Seasoning |
1 tsp | AJI-SHIO® Flavoured Pepper |
Ingredients C: marinate
1 tsp | Corn flour |
50 g | Beef, cut into small bite-sized slices |
1 tsp | Oyster sauce |
1 tsp | Sweet soy sauce |
1 tsp | Hoisin sauce |
1 tsp | AJI-NO-MOTO® |
Method
- Marinate all ingredients (C) for 15 minutes. Set aside.
- Blanch wan tan noodles in boiling water and drain.
- Heat the cooking oil, fry in noodles until crispy but not burn, set aside.
- Stir fry the marinated beef with some oil until well cooked, take it out.
- Using the same wok, heat the cooking oil, sauté garlic and ginger until aromatic fragrant rises.
- Add in the ingredients sauce (B) and all the vegetables. Season it with TUMIX® and AJI-SHIO®.
- Mix the fried beef back into the wok to coat with the sauce. Adjust the sauce consistently with corn flour mixture.
- To assemble, lay the wan tan noodle in a bowl, pour in the sauce on top. Sprinkle some spring onion and fried onion to complete the looks. Ready to serve.
Pineapple Pudding
Ingredients
250 ml | Water |
1/2 tsp | Agar-agar powder |
80 g | Pineapple, blended |
1 tbsp | Pineapple flavour cordial |
2 sachet | Pal Sweet® Sweetener |
125 ml | Low-fat milk |
Method
- Stir water and agar-agar powder on medium heat.
- When it boils and the agar-agar powder dissolves, turn off the heat.
- Add the blended pineapple, pineapple flavour cordial and Pal Sweet®.
- Pour into mould and let it set.
- Chill and ready to serve with low-fat milk.
